Turner Valley Historical Gas Plant Site, Tourism, Parks, Recreation & Culture (TPRC), Province of Alberta, 2006/07/08

Facilitated citizens appointed by the Minister (TPRC) in the Turner Valley Gas Plant Resolution Advisory Panel for 20 months to study the remediation efforts carried out by the Province over the past few years to determine if the site is safe to operate as an historic tourist attraction. The terms of reference were to provide advice to the Minister on the disposition of the plant: Lonny facilitated the 10 member panel to a consensus decision to recommend to the Minister that the site is safe and an important site to preserve and restore for the public as the birthplace of Canada’s/Alberta’s oil and gas industry.
