City of Calgary’s Citizen Engagement Project (2001-2003)

Led the $1.1 M review of the City’s engagement capability and processes, and development of the Engage! policy and framework. City Council approved the new policy governing engagement in June 2003 and authorized an Engagement Resource Unit to be formed of skilled practitioners to a) train City staff, Council, executives widely in Engage!, b) assist business units in the design and development of their engagement processes, and c) to implement, facilitate, mediate, resolve conflict and manage highly sensitive and high profile issues and projects at Council at the City Manager’s request.
